Chris
Born and raised on the land, and having a background in agriculture, Chris is "hands" on in every aspect of Burnbrae. His vineyard is a credit to him, and the wines made from his fruit are a true reflection of his hard work. Otherwise known as Dad, Robbo, Robson, Happy, Basil and many more alias', he loves a drink and is extremely passionate about what he does.
Chris' facts:
• Favourite wine: Nothing goes past his 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon. Made from the fruit from the vineyard and Robson Family home across the road, Iona, this wine was made by Frank Newman at Burnbrae way back then> Chris' favourite wine is sensationally delicious, and paired with a charred ribeye, Carm's blue cheese sauce, and new chat potatoes... he's a happy man.
• Favourite role at the winery: Talking about all things wine with guests
• Chris's passion for craft beers is bubbling along in the background, so watch this space.
• Other pastimes: ‘Dad’ jokes', fishing (he's a salt water man), loves sport being anything with a ball, although Tour De France is also a must-watch as he has the utmost respect for the strategy and teamwork. When he's not working you'll find him enjoying time with family & friends> It's worth mentioning that Chris is an "old head rugby union tragic", and proud Warratahs Supporter, faithful through the good times and the rough ones.
Carm
Carm loves running a business, and now she enjoys steering this one. She makes sure that the wines are at their best, loves hosting, and Wine Clubs, both Burnbrae's and being a member of others. Currently she's working alongside Chris, on what will be a new dawn for the Burnbrae Wine Club, leading it to be second to no other in Australia. Having been members of numerous wine clubs over many years, Chris and Carm together, bring a clear considered vision to the wine club they're building, knowing exactly what they want to create for their members.
Carm’s facts:
• Favourite wine: It depends on the season, the day, and the occasion for Carm. She LOVES a Chardonnay, or a dry Rosé when its warm, but across the board she's a Shiraz girl through and through. However, Carm is known to be partial to a margarita when the occasion invites such a beverage!
• Favourite role at the winery: enjoying a good laugh with all the staff and guests at the cellar door
• When she’s not at Burnbrae: she's listening to vinyl, drinking wine, immersing herself in art, reading up on the latest red wine, and LOVES cooking for the ones she holds closest. From dinner parties to scones for morning tea, she's a "The Farmers Wife" in the kitchen.
